I have medium thick hair. It does not work well dry, but on damp skin it scrubs out the stubble and gets my skin feeling smooth again. It won't work on longer, untrimmed hairs, so if your hair is grown out you'll need to trim first.Overall, this crystal hair eraser has a fairly small surface area, but works very nicely to shave/sand/erase unwanted hair.However ... the instructions recommend using it on wet skin. Ignore that. In fact, avoid that instruction completely. Only use it on dry, hairy skin. It works quite effectively on dry skin/hair. It doesn't work nearly as well on skin/hair which are wet with water. And, oh yeah, never, NEVER, N-E-V-E-R use it with lotions or anything other than water. Especially hand sanitizer. "Why would I do that?" you may be wondering. You might even be thinking, "Why would ANYONE EVER do that?" There are reasons. Like maybe you, or that anyone, are in a car wearing your deliberately-ripped jeans. And you look down and realize the skin showing through one of those big gaping holes has not-deliberately unshaven little hairs sprouting up all over it. And then you remember you have this crystal hair eraser! Maybe you grabbed the freshly delivered package in which it was sent to you from your porch on the way to your car. Maybe you intentionally stuck the eraser in the glove box for an occasion such as the one in which you currently find yourself. Whatever the reason, there you are with your crystal hair eraser, unappealing hairy leg, and ... no water. Maybe you just drank the last bit of water from your reusable water bottle, and you aren't the type of person who carries lotions. Or maybe you do have lotions, but don't think to use them. (And maybe it would have been an equally bad choice if you had anyway.) But, maybe you DO have some had sanitizer, and hand sanitizer is obviously wet. So, you slop some of the hand sanitizer onto your leg and sand away with the eraser. The hair vanishes. (It probably actually flakes away into the leg of your jeans and all over your car. But the bits are tiny, so you don't see them or feel the need to deal with them.) Then you go about your day, and everything is fine. Even though a few short hairs on your leg would have likely gone unnoticed by other people, you would have known they were there. So, you are glad you eradicated them. The next day, you wake up and realize your leg hurts. Really hurts. The skin is red and splotchy and raw. Over the next couple of days, the patch of skin - shaped very much like that hole in your jeans, just a bit larger - sort of heals into a scabby lizard-like texture. You eventually try using the crystal eraser (without hand sanitizer, water, or any other liquids) to sand away the scaly layer of skin, and it actually works. So, the instrument which you used to unwittingly inflict pain onto yourself is the very same thing you use to speed up the recovery process. Likely or unlikely, it could happen. The moral of the story? Only use this eraser on dry skin!This is not as quick as shaving, but it is less painful than waxing or epilating. Good for when you missed a few spots while shaving. Good to keep in the car so when the sun is shining on those hairs you missed, you can just rub them away.My wife tried the Crystal Hair Eraser and wasn't too impressed. She said that the hair eraser did not remove the (older) thicker hairs. For the thicker hairs, she would need to use her traditional razor. However, she said it worked great on the new growth (thin and tiny) hairs on her arms and legs.The Crystal Hair Eraser is painless to use and you basically use it like a sponge, rubbing it over the area that you want to be removed. It is not designed to be designed for your armpits or face. Also included is a disposable micro-razor. My wife did not use it because it was so small and she didn't trust it. This item is good for quick touch up on spots you may of missed with your traditional razor. Unfortunately, It will not be a replacement.It works to some degree. I like that it’s compact and easy enough to bring around for travel.While this product is not painful like other similar products can be, it is not the most effective when it comes to removing hair. It can remove some fine, baby hairs but when it comes to thicker hair on your legs it does not work. Maybe if you used it multiple times in the same spot but this takes much more time than shaving would.This product works here and there but there’s no telling when or where! I followed the instructions and I saw results in some areas and not in others. However, it is easier and less time consuming just to simply continue shaving.Tried this on shorter leg hair, maybe 2-3 days after traditional shaving and it worked. They hair was removed painlessly. Tried on longer hair, like on my arms and wasn't successful on removing anything. This would be great for travel and quick touch ups!
